What is Pride Grows in BK?

PGIB is an annual wedding giveaway for queer folx seeking to get legally married, wishing to renew their vows, and/or just wanting a fab love fest that celebrates them and the people that they love. 

PGIB is planned and executed by a diverse group of progressive, socially-conscious, and impact-driven wedding pros at ✨no cost✨ to you!

If selected: Up to 20 guests are invited to celebrate your special day at our venue, Carroll Hall in Bushwick, for a beautiful outdoor ceremony complete with florals, professional photography, hair & makeup, music, DJ and more!

Since 2020, we've been celebrating Pride month by uplifting our beloved communities; we're here to affirm LGBTQIA2S+ people, honor queer love, and do our part to ensure our industry lives up to its stated commitments of inclusion, diversity, equity, access and social justice.

“Pride Grows in Brooklyn feels like it was built for people like us. We are Brooklyn born, community rooted, and deeply committed to the belief that queer love is not just personal, it is political. We are both creatives, organizers, and hosts at heart. Our home is already a gathering place, full of friends, laughter, and good energy. [One of us] is a community herbalist, land steward, and garden educator who works in farmer housing advocacy and is preparing to enter law school. . . [The other is] a healthcare professional, and a true nightlife legend, beloved in the community for creating safe, joyful spaces for exploration, play, and musical appreciation.”

“We are trans [and nonbinary and on the autism spectrum]; our brains tend to work in the same ways. [One of us is] getting a master's in social work in order to help more of our community…[One of us is also] disabled and has turned our home into an emergency housing/safe haven for several unfairly formerly incarcerated individuals and homeless trans youth while maintaining a garden…[And one of us is also an artist] who started an art collective to give trans artists a chance to have their art sold and published. [For our celebration,] we want everyone to dress as their most peacock, queerest, selves. We want everyone to feel connected together and joyful for one day, despite everything.”

Who’s behind the scenes of PGIB 2026?

We're a fabulous group of LGBTQIA2S+ owned and allied wedding pros in the NYC area, putting together a one-day series of intimate weddings/queer love parties for LGBTQIA2S+ celebrants.

We’ll do all the planning, photographing, vendor confirming, etc. — so that you and your partner(s) can celebrate your love with minimal stress and MAXIMUM JOY!!

(Oh, and all the vendors are donating their time/resources, so your celebration is free to you and your guests.)
